Cult Pens Zebra Sharbo →
oooohhh…I’m on the hunt for a place that sells these in the U.S. now. I had a Sharbo about 5 years ago and loved it (that was the old, clunky model). Then Zebra discontinued them. This nicer, slimmer model looks awesome. I think I’ll get one of each, but I’m not paying $40 each for them from the UK. :( FOLLOW-UP: Zebra says they’re not available in the U.S. —...
Spending just a bit too much time on Facebook, updating stuff. Still scads better than MySpace, though.
Gathering stuff for yard sale / craigslist. Daughter saw the violin and asked “can I have that, Daddy?” How could I say ‘no’?

We also have a bunch of yard sale fodder, as well.

A Mac Geek's Thanks - (a day late, I know)
So, Thanksgiving 2007 has come and gone, and as usual, it went by in a blur. I spent most of the day with my family, a little time trying to sort out my Address Book (which I haven’t organized yet since making the jump to Leopard), and a little time online just goofing around (like any other day). So I just thought I’d say a little “thanks” to the following links that...

Heh. This one scored…
19 years on...
All this reconnecting from high school friends has gotten me thinking. I had no idea in high school that within 3 years, I’d be a father. Or that 19 years later, I’d be a computer tech geek working for one of the most innovative companies in the world (albeit as a relative lowbie in the retail division). Or that I’d be a mediocre (at best) father. I really thought I had my life...
Looking more like a “Christmas is all about being with family” holiday than a “zOMG let’s max out the credit cards!” holiday this year.
I was expecting TPiR to have more changes with Drew as the new host. Of course it’s only been a month, & he still seems a bit uneasy.

Make-a-Flake - A snowflake maker by Barkley... →
I had a blast with this a couple of years ago. Nifty little Flash app for ‘cutting’ and printing paper snowflakes. You can email or download your design after making it.

My quest for the perfect charging station continues. This one’s even nicer than the one I found yesterday.

Oh – then why not start at the top? Fire the administration. (link above goes to chicagotribune.com)
Typical geek that I am, I’m actually excited about the upcoming Ghostbusters video game.
Seam Carving - cool and scary new image... →
I just caught this link over at c|net news, which linked back to the original tech demo above. If you watch both videos, the seam carving technology is very powerful, and will no doubt show up in Photoshop (or another favorite image editor) in short order. The thing is, it’s also pretty scary, if you think about the potential for misuse. What used to take hours of manipulation by a skilled...

This looks like a really practical way to organize the electronic gadgets in one’s life. Just off the top of my head, I can fill two of these: one with my iPhone, iPod, and my wife’s phone; the other with my wife’s camera, her iPod nano, and my daughter’s iPod shuffle. The only thing I don’t like is the color. Now that I know this sort of ‘furniture’ is...
Blasts from the past.
I’ve been running across or hearing from old friends and acquaintances lately, and the corners of my mouth are aching from all the smiling it’s been causing me to do. The most recent was just a few minutes ago, when a dear friend of mine from high school, whom I haven’t spoken with since graduation in June 1988, just messaged me on Facebook. Of course, my 20-year high school...

Finally, I get to see what all the hoopla is about.
Leopard, at last!
Well, I finally did it – I installed Leopard! OK, well it may not sound like a big deal, but I’m also using Leopard as a “clean wipe” point for my digital clutter: I’m starting over completely, and only bringing over from my old system what I need as I need it. So this marks a fairly big transition for me. So, I’m reinstalling my Apps now (only reinstalling what...

If your God “hates” anything, then you’re worshipping the wrong God.

This is the software I’m using to help me with NaNoWriMo.
Seems pretty cool so far. Reminds me of the old Z-Write I used to play around with a bit in classic Mac.

Well, this year, I actually got to the signing up part. We’ll see how far I get. ;)
Why I use tumblr.
(note: This post is a work in progress. I’ll be adding to and editing it until I’m happy with it.) ;)
I’ve been wanting to keep a regular blog for years now, but what stopped me was the complexity involved in setting one up. Even blogger, which I consider to be the simplest of the big blogging services, is a bit clunky for my taste, and as a result, I never really blogged all...
