2 days, 2 teacher conferences with our youngest son’s teachers. Apparently, our daughter isn’t the only troublemaker. Fatherhood fail #2.
Kids are sorting their haul for the night. Biggest difference between me & them: my bucket was gone within a day or 2. Theirs last months.
Stress season continues: 1st- back to school, etc.; 2nd- fall family birthdays; 3rd- Halloween, etc.; 4th- Thanksgiving; 5th- Christmas.

WHAT
Yeah. I need to find a way to tag my imported Twitter feeds as ‘twitter’ in my tumblr blog.
Sorry for the confusion.
sweettangerine:
no as in “Twitter”…
fascinatingryan:

So, fellow local twits who were in attendance, was the Obama rally as energizing in person at Harbor Park as it was on the Ustream feed?

Political differences + Family = FAIL
Came home to a new furry little family member: we saved a ferret from an otherwise uncertain future at the SPCA or pound. Cute li’l girl!
EDIT: Thanks to sweettangerine for the tip/recommendation! ;)
New work week starts in about 30 mins.
Just wound down the Halloween party. I’m stunned — she actually pulled it off.
Wife waltzed in the door around 12:30 - hauling groceries. Unloaded my worry on her, but I was really just glad she was home and safe.
…oh, and the house is nowhere near ready for a party. With 5.5 hours to go.
My wife planned a kids’ halloween party for 5:00 p.m. today, and she is nowhere to be found, without her cell phone. GAH!

Why I am Voting for Barack Obama
Believe it or not, I am a registered Republican. Despite a rather left-leaning voting record, I registered in 2000 to vote in the Republican primaries for John McCain, because I did not trust George W. Bush. (Fat lot of good that did.)
And while I did vote for Clinton/Gore in 1992 and 1996, I was more a fan of Gore and his public service and environmental record than I was of Clinton....
One-issue voting
I don’t pretend to know the reasons people vote the way they do. Some people have agreements on many things a candidate stands for, some people agree with their candidate on only one issue, and that’s enough for them.
I do have a suspicion that many conservative voters who vote traditionally Republican do so based on one issue alone: abortion. That issue alone is a hot potato, and...

Unscheduled morning meeting with our...
Counselor: Come on in, please have a seat.
My Wife: Thanks. We wanted to talk about our daughter, Emily. Do you know her?
Counselor: Oh yes, absolutely. You can't work at this school and NOT know who Emily is.
Looking forward to a couple (sorta) days off.

A note about product links on ckmblr
From time to time, I will post links to great deals (like daily Amazon MP3 deals) or other products (like droolworthy gear) in this blog. When I do so, it’s because I’ve either purchased it myself, or I would if I could afford it. I’m not trying to sell anyone anything.
I do, however, have an Amazon affiliate account, and if I ever do link to something that will directly benefit me (via affiliate...

Not sure how good this software is, but it’s free (well, in exchange for your email address), so I figured I’d mention it, in case you ever need to recover accidentally deleted files from a memory card.

One of the very few reasons I have looked forward to listening to local radio is now gone. There has been a Sunrise on Sundays show dating back to The Coast (which was the last good radio station in Hampton Roads) in the early 90’s.
Part of the joy of listening to Sunrise was hearing Hunter interview the guest artists who were brought in to perform live. His genuine, gentle tone will be...
