Sony CEO refers to Apple as a ‘Boutique’ company, while stating Sony is a ‘Giant Conglomerate.’
Must be some new math at play.

I don’t know if this goes under EPIC FAIL or Can’t Fight Fate.
At any rate, I’m now in the market for a 1985 Maxima for my son, since they’re apparently fairly well-built. ;^)

Let’s cross our collective fingers that this works in humans as well as it does in mice.

Just saw WALL•E
Not surprisingly, it’s EXCELLENT.
No spoilers here, but I did want to mention a few things:
The Pixar short in front of the film is the funniest I can remember. Beautifully done.
There at least a couple of nods to Apple fans in the film. See if you can find them.
Stay to enjoy the end credits — they are a visual delight. They move the story along beyond the ending, and they do...

Glad I took the extra day off today . Turns out today at home with the kids was better than the last 3 “vacation” days combined.
Best.

Back home from stressful, disappointing vacation. Good new is: lessons learned — we’ll know what & what not to do next time ‘round.

At the hotel — made it in one piece, thanks to caffeine, 5-hour Energy, and those Wake-The-F@ck-Up! ridges on the sides of the interstate.
About to make a 4-5 hour drive to Washington, D.C. on zero sleep. (No-Doz, be my friend today.)

About to prepare for a trip that I don’t want to take, where I expect to be miserable 95% of the time. I hope I’m wrong.

[My latest review on Amazon.com for a very disappointing toy]
Are kids really expected to be able to work this thing?
I had been eyeing this toy in the stores for a while for my kids (girl, 8 and boy, 5), who are huge fans of the movie, since they only have smaller (‘Hot Wheels’-sized) Transformers figures. My wife had the honor of actually purchasing it, though, and I came home...

I was thinking, as I was fuming over gas prices earlier tonight, that I’d love to find a human-powered vehicle to ride to and from work regularly. In all my googling, I discovered that most enclosed pedal-powered vehicles are just recumbent bikes inside shells, so I started poking around a bit more and found this.

WWDC08 Keynote Bingo
ArsTechnica’s John Siracusa continues his recent keynote bingo tradition;

Bonus points to the ArsTechnica version for the design. I’m still kicking myself for selling that old copy of WIRED; I should’ve had it framed.

I recently observed a gem of an email circulating (which I will quote at the end of this post) which illustrates a major problem with this country.
